Even people who love their work need to take a break from it now and then. While I am certainly not overworked these days, I find my head way too filled with recipes and menus lately so today I want to share some recent internet finds and some random photos. Yes, some of it is about food.

With the hubbub about H1N1/Swine Flu, it has been hard to get good information. I have appreciated reading the reports from this site which offers another perspective.

With a recent falling off of the “starchy carbohydrate restriction” wagon on my part, I have been looking for online support and information and found Mark Sisson. His site and blog are both informational and entertaining. It is a bit too far out for me to become an avid follower but one bit of wisdom recently gleaned is his 80/20 philosophy. If you follow a ( in his case, dietary) plan 80% of the time, then that leaves some wiggle room for 20% of indulgence. This is so true for more than just diet, isn’t it ? Think about your exercise plans. If you get out the door and do what you said you were going to do 80% of the time, that is awesome! Leaves some room for a day off without guilt or blowing off a workout now and then. Same for spiritual practices whether that is sitting with the Fire or chanting or going to church. I like having permission to just do my best, which is certainly not perfect.

On a completely different note, a friend sent me a link to this website!!  Power to the Purple!

and one more… someone’s Facebook Fan page led me to this beautiful site. I don’t really know who this chef is but isn’t this fun to look at ?

Thanks for indulging me and back to a recipe next time.
